Strong communication skills

Effective communication is essential for social workers. You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the people you support, as well as your colleagues and other professionals in the field. Social workers must be skilled at active listening, expressing empathy and conveying complex - maybe at times unpleasant - information in a way that’s easy to understand.

Problem-solving and critical thinking
