Join Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, praised for its “culture of high support and kindness.”
Be supported to be the best social worker you can be.
Thank you for your interest in Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT). Let me share a little about the inspirational journey we’re on. I say ‘we’ because every member of our dedicated workforce plays a key role in transforming children’s early help and social care in Northamptonshire.
Together, we’re placing children, young people and families at the heart of all we do – in every action we take and every decision we make.
Our culture, which Ofsted assessed to be one of “kindness” and “high support” is at the heart of our improvement journey. There is no management from afar. Our approach is less about hierarchy and more about how we, as leaders support our workforce to do the best job of their lives every single day and I promise that I will.
If you’re looking to work for an organisation that encourages best practice to flourish, allows you to be creative and gives you opportunities to learn and develop then I would wholeheartedly encourage you to apply.
Sanctuary Personnel are managing all social work applications on our behalf. However, if you would like a chat, I am more than happy for you to drop me an email or DM me on twitter and we can arrange a convenient time to catch up.

We realise how excessive bureaucracy can be a real barrier to change. That’s why, at NCT, we place such high importance on practice leading policy rather than the other way around. As a result, our workforce feels fully supported, listened to and empowered to work with children, young people and families to achieve positive changes.
The improvements that we have already made are having a direct impact on caseloads too. When NCT first started work in November 2021, caseloads within the duty and assessment teams were in the high 20s. Now, they average 17 within that team and 19 across the organisation.
We are ambitious. Our aim is to make a sustainable improvement to the lives of children, young people and families in Northamptonshire. This starts with making sure that our social workers have everything they need to do their job well.
In joining us, you can expect to:
Work in a “kind” and “supportive” culture (as observed by Ofsted)
Be listened to and personally contribute to service improvements
Be involved in delivering and developing innovative practices
Have a healthy work-life balance with manageable caseloads and flexible working
Have the full support of your colleagues
Benefit from high-quality monthly supervision and reflective discussions
Have access to excellent learning & development opportunities
Receive a highly competitive salary and rewards package
If this all sounds great, and you’re looking for a professional challenge within a highly-supportive team, we encourage you to apply for a role through
our social work recruitment partner, Sanctuary Personnel.
